China’s iron ore output up seven percent in January-August

In the January-August period this year, China’s iron ore production amounted to 659.169 million mt, increasing by 7.0 percent year on year, according to China’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

In August alone, China’s iron ore production totaled 86.333 million mt, increasing by 1.3 percent year on year, while rising by 0.73 percent month on month.

In August, import iron ore prices moved up sharply amid increasing iron ore futures prices and several stimulus policies issued by China, which bolstered market sentiment.
