China’s coke output rises by 1.9 percent in January-May 2026

In the January-May period this year, China’s metallurgical coke output amounted to 210.37 million mt, up 1.9 percent year on year, as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). 

In the given period, China’s raw coal output amounted to 1.98043 billion mt, decreasing by 0.3 percent year on year.

In May alone, China’s metallurgical coke and raw coal outputs totaled 42.72 million mt and 397.22 million mt, rising by 1.1 percent and down 1.7 percent year on year, respectively.
