China’s coal imports increase by 1.7 percent in H1 2026

In the January-June period this year, China’s coal imports (all types) totaled 225.4 million mt, up 1.7 percent year on year, according to the latest data released by China's General Administration of Customs (GACC).

In June alone, China’s coal imports amounted to 42.78 million mt, up 28.6 percent month on month, while up 29.5 percent year on year.
