The China Auto Dealer General Inventory Index stood at 1.54 in August this year, down from 1.7 recorded in July, as announced by the China Automobile Dealers Association (CADA).

CADA said the performance of the vehicle market has been better than expected amid the holding of exhibitions in many regions, 818 promotion activities and the reopening of schools, which has eased the pressure from inventory.

The overall inventory of automobiles held by dealers was around 2.9 million units at the end of August.

Moreover, CADA stated that passenger vehicle sales will see a seasonal increase in September, to around 1.95 million units, indicating rises on both year-on-year and month-on-month basis.
