Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending March 15, the US rotary rig count decreased by one to 1,026 rigs following a 11-rig decrease the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas stayed level at 193, while the number of rigs drilling for oil decreased by one to 833. The overall rig count is now up by 36 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count decreased by 28 to 161 rigs in the week ending March 15, following a 22-rig decrease the week before. The Canadian rig count is now down by 58 rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
