Canadian rig count increases, US stable - week 8, 2026

Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending on February 20, 2026, the US rotary rig count remained stable at 551.

The number of rigs drilling for gas and oil remained unchanged at 133 and 409, respectively. The overall US rig count is down by 41 rigs in the year-on-year comparison.

Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by two to 224 rigs in the week ending February 20. The Canadian rig count decreased by 20 compared to the same reporting period in the previous year.
