Canadian iron ore shipments up 76.8 percent in July

According to Natural Resources Canada, shipments of iron ore in July 2018 totaled 5,451,625 mt, a 76.8 percent increase from June and a 32.3 percent increase from July 2017. Of that total, 390,622 mt was shipped to Canadian customers, while 5,061,003 mt was exported.

Year-to-date iron ore shipments through July totaled 24,109,694 mt, down 5.7 percent from the same period of 2017.

Canadian iron ore stocks at the end of July totaled 11,645,489 mt, down 1.4 percent from June levels but up 303.1 percent from levels in July 2017.
