According to Statistics Canada, Canada produced 5,166,422 mt of iron ore concentrates in January 2026, down 8.6 percent from December 2025 and down 6.6 percent from January 2025.
Canadian iron ore producers shipped 2,745,196 mt of iron ore concentrates in January, down 24.6 percent from December and down 16.2 percent from January 2025.
Closing inventories of iron ore concentrates at Canadian producers totaled 7,045,639 mt in January, up 21.9 percent from December and down 35.9 percent from January 2025.
