According to Natural Resources Canada, shipments of iron ore in June 2019 totaled 5,138,977 mt, a 5.0 percent increase from May and a 75.1 percent increase from June 2018. Of that total, 303,748 mt was shipped to Canadian customers, while 4,835,229 mt was exported.
Year-to-date, Canadian iron ore shipments totaled 24,694,902 mt as of June, up 33.4 percent from the same six-month period of 2018.
Canadian iron ore stocks at the end of June totaled 6,417,898 mt, down 10.8 percent from May levels and down 17.9 percent from levels in June 2018.
