Canadian iron ore shipments up 25.3 percent in March

According to Natural Resources Canada, shipments of iron ore in March 2019 totaled 4,042,842 mt, a 25.3 percent increase from February and a 22.4 percent increase from March 2018. Of that total, 246,322 mt was shipped to Canadian customers, while 3,796,520 mt was exported.

Year-to-date, Canadian iron ore shipments totaled 10,169,058 mt, up 6.3 percent from the same three-month period of 2018.

Canadian iron ore stocks at the end of March totaled 6,876,497 mt, down 0.6 percent from February levels but up 9.3 percent from levels in March 2018.
