Canadian iron ore shipments up 20.7 percent in October

According to Natural Resources Canada, shipments of iron ore in October 2019 totaled 5,434,701 mt, a 20.7 percent increase from September and an 11.1 percent increase from October 2018. Of that total, 291,968 mt was shipped to Canadian customers, while 5,142,733 mt was exported.

Year-to-date, Canadian iron ore shipments totaled 45,186,811 mt as of October, up 7.7 percent from the same 10-month period of 2018.

Canadian iron ore stocks at the end of October totaled 5,386,289 mt, down 11.2 percent from September levels but up 38.2 percent from levels in October 2018.
