Canadian iron ore shipments up 14.9 percent in June

According to Natural Resources Canada, shipments of iron ore in June 2018 totaled 3,008,789 mt, a 14.9 percent increase from May but a 17.1 percent decrease from June 2017. Of that total, 394,415 mt was shipped to Canadian customers, while 2,614,374 mt was exported.

Year-to-date iron ore shipments through June totaled 18,583,647 mt, down 13.3 percent from the same period of 2017.

Canadian iron ore stocks at the end of June totaled 10,475,687 mt, up 4.5 percent from May levels and up 214.5 percent from levels in June 2017.
