Canadian iron ore shipments down 43.1 percent in January

According to Natural Resources Canada, shipments of iron ore in January 2019 totaled 2,900,144 mt, a 43.1 percent decrease from December but an 18.9 percent increase from January 2018. Of that total, 142,621 mt was shipped to Canadian customers, while 2,757,523 mt was exported.

Canadian iron ore stocks at the end of January totaled 6,278,430 mt, up 27.4 percent from December levels and up 21.4 percent from levels in January 2018.
