Canadian iron ore production up 0.7 percent in January

According to Statistics Canada, Canada produced 4,856,531 mt of iron ore concentrates in January, up 0.7 percent from December but down 6.3 percent from January 2021.

Canadian iron ore producers shipped 2,272,761 mt of iron ore concentrates in January, down 19.8 percent from December and down 24.9 percent from January 2021.

Closing inventories of iron ore concentrates at Canadian producers totaled 5,199,041 mt in January, compared to 4,459,571 mt in December and 4,577,202 mt in January 2021.
