Canadian iron ore production down 5.2 percent in April

According to Statistics Canada, Canada produced 5,134,389 mt of iron ore concentrates in April, down 5.2 percent from March but up 9.5 percent from April 2021.

Canadian iron ore producers shipped 3,420,651 mt of iron ore concentrates in April, up 15.1 percent from March and up 8.7 percent from April 2021.

Closing inventories of iron ore concentrates at Canadian producers totaled 5,980,884 mt in April, compared to 6,102,994 mt in March and 5,228,490 mt in April 2021.
