CAAM: China's auto vehicle sales up 9.1 percent in January-October

In the January-October period this year, production and sales of automotive vehicles in China amounted to 24.016 million units and 23.967 million units, increasing by 8.0 percent and 9.1 percent year on year, respectively, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).

In the first ten months, production and sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) totaled 7.352 million units and 7.28 million units, up 33.9 percent and 37.8 percent year on year, respectively, with the market share reaching 30.4 percent in the given period.       

In October alone, production and sales of automotive vehicles in China totaled 2.891 million units and 2.853 million units, up 1.5 percent and down 0.2 percent month on month, while up 11.2 percent and 13.8 percent year on year, respectively.      

In October, production and sales of NEVs amounted to 989,000 units and 956,000 units, up 29.2 percent and 33.5 percent year on year, respectively, with the market share reaching 33.5 percent in the given month.
