CAAM: China's auto vehicle production and sales decrease by 9.3 and 10.8 percent in April

In April this year, production and sales of automotive vehicles in China amounted to 2.234 million units and 2.252 million units, respectively down 9.3 percent and 10.8 percent month on month, while rising by 6.3 percent and 8.6 percent year on year, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM). 

In the January-April period of this year, production and sales of automotive vehicles in China amounted to 8.586 million units and 8.748 million units, respectively up 53.4 percent and 51.8 percent year on year.

CAAM said the shortage of chip supply may continue till January next year, while the negative impact on auto producers’ outputs in the second quarter will be worse than the first quarter.
