Brazilian wire rod exports decline in February

Wire rod exports from Brazil declined to 18,000 mt in February from 20,400 mt in January, according to customs.

The exports in January were from ArcelorMittal, (16,400 mt at $917/mt), Gerdau (1,500 mt at $662/mt) and Simec (100 mt at $1,019/mt), all FOB conditions.

The destinations were the US (8,800 mt at $1,028/mt), South American countries (7,600 mt at $713/mt), and Canada (1,600 mt at $1,058/mt).

Meanwhile, Brazil imported 10,500 mt of wire rod in February, against 9,500 mt in January.

The imports were from China (5,900 mt at $645/mt) Russia (4,200 mt at $636/mt) and Germany (400 mt at $1,163/mt), also FOB conditions.
