Brazilian pig iron exports increase in July

Brazilian exports of pig iron reached 379,000 mt in July, against 247,500 mt in June, according to customs.

The main destinations in July were the US (275,300 mt at $504/mt), Mexico (45,300 mt at $485/mt), the Netherlands (39,000 mt at $550/mt), Asia (18,800 mt at $534/mt), Australia (400 mt at $545/mt) and Argentina (200 mt at $769/mt), all FOB conditions.

The shipments were from producers in the southeastern states of Minas Gerais and Espirito Santo (325,800 mt at $505/mt), Pará, in the north (50,200 mt at $530/mt) and Mato Grosso do Sul, in the central western region (3,000 mt at $481/mt).
