Brazilian HR mill CST enlarges its output capacity

CST is planning to increase its annual hot strip production to 4 million tonnes. The expanded portion is planned to be exported. The expansion in the output capacity is likely to be related with No.3 blast furnace of the mill, which will start operating in the early 2004. The No.3 blast furnace is expected to increase the annual capacity of crude steel output from 5 million tonnes to 7.5 million tonnes. Meanwhile, the major part of the mill's production will supply a new Brazilian galvanizing and cold rolled plant, Vega do Sul.
