Brazilian civil construction activity increases in September

Brazilian civil construction activity in September rose to 49.5 points, up from 45.7 points in the same month of the year prior, in a scale from zero to 100, in which values above 50 show growth, said the local confederation of industries (CNI).

According to CNI, civil construction activity in September in Brazil slightly improved from 49.2 points in August 2019.

CNI said the capacity utilization for the local civil construction segment in September grew to 62 percent, up from 61 percent in September 2018, and also up from 58 percent in August 2019.

The indicator that measures the number of job positions in the local civil construction sector increased to 47.5 points in September this year, from 45.1 points in the same month of 2018. Despite the year-on-year growth, the same indicator dropped from 47.9 points in August 2019.
