Brazilian civil construction activity increases in April

Brazilian civil construction activity in April increased to 46.9 points from 43.3 points in April 2017, on a scale from zero to 100, in which values above 50 show growth, according to the country’s confederation of industries (CNI).

Despite the year-on-year increase, CNI said civil construction activity in April dropped from 47.1 points in March this year.

CNI said the industry’s capacity utilization in April reached 60 percent, up from 56 percent in April 2017, and from 57 percent in March this year.

The indicator that measures the number of job positions in the local civil construction segment increased to 44.6 points in April from 42.3 points in April 2017, but declined on the month-on-month analysis from 45.4 points in March this year.
