Baogang produces 2.41 million mt of crude steel in Q1

Inner Mongolia-based Chinese steel producer Baotou Iron and Steel Group (Baogang Group) has stated that in the first quarter of the current year it produced 2.39 million mt of pig iron, 2.41 million mt of crude steel and 2.3 million mt of finished steel.

In the January-February period, Baogang Group was 56.27 percent self-sufficient in supply of iron ore for its blast furnaces. Meanwhile, water consumption per metric ton of steel for the period in question was down by 0.31 cubic meters year on year to 4.88 cubic meters.
