Argentinian industrial output increases in September

Argentinian industrial output rose for the fifth consecutive month in September, the nation’s statistics agency, Indec, said, increasing 2.3 percent, year-on-year, September and increasing 1.5 percent in the accumulated period of January to September 2017 compared to the same period in 2016.

Indec said industrial production at the local automotive segment in September rose 10.1 percent, year-on-year, while industrial production at the local metal mechanic segment grew 5.4 percent in the same period, also on a year-on-year basis.

According to a Indec’s qualitative survey, which measured the expectancies of the country’s industrial companies for Q4, on a year-on-year basis, 46.7 percent expect a stable pace for domestic demand.

On the other hand, another 45.1 percent foresee an increase in demand, while 8.2 percent expect a decrease.

Out of the interviewed exporting companies, 53 percent expect a stable Q4 for exports, year-on-year. An additional 33.1 percent expect an increase and 13.9 percent anticipate a decline in the industry’s exports in the same period.
