Argentinian crude steel production up in August

Argentinian crude steel production in August rose 9.1 percent, year-on-year, to 455,300 mt, according to the nation’s steel association, the Argentinian Steel Chamber (CAA). Local crude steel output in August dropped 1.8 percent, month-on-month, from 463,800 mt in July.

Hot rolled finished steel output in August was 438,500 mt, 4 percent up, year-on-year, and 11 percent up, month-on-month. Cold rolled flat steel production in August declined 3.8 percent, year-on-year, but rose 10.1 percent, month-on-month, to 117,600 mt.

As for the accumulated period of January to August, Argentinian crude steel production reached 3.4 million mt, 18 percent up, year-on-year.

Local hot rolled finished steel production in the eight-month period was 3.2 million mt, 8.3 percent up, year-on-year, while cold rolled flat steel production in the same period grew 0.9 percent, year-on-year, to 888,900 mt.
