Argentinian crude steel production rises in September

Argentinian crude steel output in September increased 2.8 percent, year-on-year, to 434,700 mt, according to the local steel association, the Argentinian Steel Chamber (CAA). However, output declined 4.5 percent, month-on-month, in September from 455,300 mt in August.

Hot rolled finished steel production in September was 400,900 mt, 6.1 percent down, year-on-year, and 8.6 percent down, month-on-month. Cold rolled flat steel production in September dropped 13.9 percent, year-on-year, and 8.1 percent, month-on-month, to 108,100 mt.

As for the accumulated period of January to September, Argentinian crude steel production totaled 3.94 million mt, 16.1 percent up, year-on-year.

Hot rolled finished steel production in the nine-month period was 3.6 million mt, 6.5 percent up, year-on-year. On the other hand, cold rolled flat steel production in January-September period declined 1 percent, year-on-year, to 996,900 mt.
