Argentinian crude steel production declines in February

Argentinian crude steel output in February dropped 23.7 percent, year-on-year, and 14.2 percent, month-on-month, to 318,200 mt, according to local steel association, Camara Argentina del Acero (CAA).

Hot rolled finished steel output in February was 228,000 mt, 45.3 percent down, year-on-year, and 24.6 percent down, month-on-month. Cold rolled flat steel production in February decreased 59.6 percent, year-on-year, and 43.5 percent, month-on-month, to 44,800 mt.

As for the first two months of the year, Argentinian crude steel production reached 689,100 mt, 9.4 percent down, year-on-year.

Argentinian hot rolled finished steel production in the two-month period was 530,400 mt, 33.4 percent down, year-on-year. Following the same downtrend, local cold rolled flat steel production in the January-February period dropped 48.4 percent, year-on-year, to 124,000 mt.
