Argentinian crude steel output increases in February

Argentinian crude steel output in February rose 8 percent, year-on-year, and 15.3 percent, month-on-month, to 343,800 mt, said the local steel association, Camara Argentina del Acero (CAA).

Argentinian hot rolled finished steel production in February was 239,400 mt, 5 percent up, year-on-year, but 17.5 percent down, month-on-month.

Argentinian cold rolled flat steel production in February spiked 139.3 percent, year-on-year, but dropped 10.9 percent, month-on-month, to 107,200 mt, from 44,800 mt in February 2019.

As for the two-month period from January to February, Argentinian crude steel output reached 642,000 mt, 6.8 percent down, year-on-year. Domestic hot rolled finished steel in the January-February period fell 0.2 percent, year-on-year, to 529,600 mt. Argentinian cold rolled flat steel production in the accumulated period of January to February surged 83.3 percent, year-on-year, to 227,400 mt.
