Argentinian crude steel output decreases in August

Argentinian crude steel output in August decreased 4.4 percent, year-on-year, but rose 4.1 percent, month-on-month, to 435,500 mt, local steel association, Camara Argentina del Acero (CAA), said this week.

Argentinian hot rolled finished steel production in August was 406,800 mt, 7.2 percent down, year-on-year, but 6.6 percent up, month-on-month. Cold rolled flat steel production in August fell 9 percent, year-on-year, and 5.8 percent, month-on-month, to 107,000 mt.

As for the accumulated period from January to August, Argentinian crude steel output dropped 8.5 percent, year-on-year, to 3.17 million mt.

Argentinian hot rolled finished steel production in the January-August period reached 2.87 million mt, 12.8 percent down, year-on-year. Cold rolled flat steel production in the January-August period was 751,600 mt, 15.4 percent down, year-on-year.
