Argentinian crude steel output 20.8 percent up in March

Argentinian crude steel production in March rose 20.8 percent, year-on-year, to 473,900 mt, the nation’s steel association, Camara Argentina del Acero (CAA), said on Wednesday.

Crude steel output in the third month of the year grew 13.6 percent when compared to February. As for Q1, Argentinian crude steel production increased 24.9 percent, year-on-year, to 1.23 million mt.

Hot rolled finished steel output in March totaled 459,100 mt, 15.6 percent up, year-on-year, and 10.2 percent up, month-on-month. In Q1, local hot rolled finished steel production reached 1.25 million mt, 25.3 percent up, year-on-year.

Argentinian cold rolled flat steel output in March was 105,600 mt, 1.6 percent up, year-on-year, but 4.6 percent down, month-on-month. The local steel association said cold rolled flat steel production for the three-month period from January to March grew 13.5 percent, year-on-year, to 346,200 mt.
