Argentinian crude steel production in the second month of the year increased 36.8 percent, year-on-year, to 417,300 mt, local steel association Camara Argentina del Acero (CAA) said on Tuesday.
CAA said crude steel output in February grew 21.4 percent when compared to 343,800 mt January.
Hot rolled finished steel output in February increased 39.8 percent, year-on-year, to 416,600 mt, and increased 9.8 percent, month-on-month. Cold rolled flat steel output in February reached 110,800 mt, 23.9 percent up, year-on-year, but 14.7 percent down, month-on-month.
As for the accumulated period of January to February, local crude steel output in Argentina totaled 761,000 mt, 27.6 percent up, year-on-year.
Argentinian hot rolled finished steel output in the two-month period reached 796,200 mt, 31.6 percent up, year-on-year. Following the same uptrend, cold rolled flat steel output in the January-February period improved 19.6 percent, year-on-year, to 240,600 mt.
