Argentina's crude steel output rises 26 percent in April

Argentina's crude steel output in April rose 26 percent, year-on-year, to 463,000 mt, the country’s steel association, Camara Argentina del Acero, said Wednesday.

Argentinian crude steel production in April dropped 2.3 percent, month-on-month, from 473,900 mt. As for the four-month period, from January to April, Argentinian crude steel output reached 1.69 million mt, 25.2 percent up, year-on-year.

Hot rolled finished steel output in April was 429,800 mt, 12.4 percent up, year-on-year, but 6.4 percent down, month-on-month. In the January-April period, hot rolled finished steel output totaled 1.68 million mt, 21.7 percent up, year-on-year.

Cold rolled flat steel output in April grew 3.4 percent, year-on-year, and 7.7 percent, month-on-month, to 113,700 mt. As for four-month period, cold rolled flat steel production was 460,000 mt, 10.8 percent up, year-on-year.
