ArcelorMittal to expand operations in Kazakhstan

The world's largest steelmaker ArcelorMittal is to expand its production operations in Kazakhstan, the group's owner Lakshmi Mittal has stated after his briefing with Kazakhstan's president Nursultan Nazarbaev.

The scope of program includes the capacity expansion at ArcelorMittal's steel producing facility in Temirtau to 10 million metric tons of steel a year, as well as coking coal and iron ore mining capacity expansion projects.
