ArcelorMittal Temirtau, Kazakhstan-based subsidiary of steel giant ArcelorMittal, has commissioned deliveries of products manufactured at its new long steel producing mill. The first consignment of rebar from the mill has been delivered to a construction company in Astana.
The long steel producing mill was constructed upon the request of Kazakhstan president Nursultan Nazarbayev, in order to meet the demand of Kazakhstan's domestic market in long products.
After the current adjustment of the mill's equipment, the mill is to reach its planned annual production capacity of 400,000 mt, producing rebar, channels, angles, and other structural steel products to meet the needs of the domestic construction industry.
Moreover, ArcelorMittal Temirtau has recently signed a contract with the Dastur company for the construction of a new facility with a capacity of four million mt of steel per year. Despite the difficult situation in the world market, ArcelorMittal Temirtau is to proceed with its investment programs.
