ArcelorMittal Poland to modernize coke plant

ArcelorMittal Poland, a subsidiary of Luxembourg-based steel producer ArcelorMittal, has announced that it will invest PLN 165 million ($38.49 million) to modernize its Zdzieszowice coke plant, significantly reducing nitrogen oxide emissions with new equipment installations.

The company plans to complete the modernization works within three years.

ArcelorMittal Poland stated that it is working on new technologies such as direct iron reduction in combination with electric furnaces to decarbonize its processes.
