Ukrainian steelmaker Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works (Alchevsk), a subsidiary of Ukrainian steel producer Industrial Union of Donbass (ISD), has announced that in February this year its plans to cut its crude steel production by five percent compared to January to 380,000 mt and to reduce its production of steel products by four percent month on month to around 350,000 mt due to repair works at the mill.

In January this year, Alchevsk produced 400,000 mt of crude steel, up 23 percent compared to January 2012, and 367,000 mt of steel products, up 31 percent year on year.
