Altos Hornos de Mexico (AHMSA) expects the Mexican government to extend existing AD duties on several Chinese imports to other steel products.

According to the Mexican producer, extending the existing AD duties to other products will avoid circumvention practices.

AHMSA said the nation's economy secretariat, SE, has issued several AD measures that are "teased through elution." The nation's largest integrated steelmaker argued Chinese exporters add a minimal portion of boron and chromium to their products, changing the steel characteristics and making teasing of existing AD duties easier.

Miguel Elizondo, sales manager at AHMSA, said that existing AD measures to other steel products will "curb" circumvention practices that result in null effects to existing AD decisions.
