Sources within the US domestic API X-42 EWR line pipe market continue to report more of the same.  Order activity and inquiries are sluggish at best and that isn’t expected to change in the immediate future.

The scant activity has done little to effect prices, which are still trending mostly stable. US domestic prices remain in the approximate range of $45.00-$46.00 cwt. ($992-$1,014/mt or $900-$920/nt), ex-Midwest mill while futures offer prices from Tawain and Vietnam are still reported at approximately $35.00-$36.00 cwt. ($772-$794/mt or $700-$720/nt), DDP loaded truck in US Gulf coast ports; offers from Korean continue to trend approximately $1.00 cwt. ($22/mt or $20/nt) those levels.  It should also be mentioned that this continues to be a buyer’s market.  If someone is looking to bring some big tons to the table, they’ll have no issues in negotiating a better price.
