Little, if anything has changed within the US domestic API X-52 ERW line pipe market in the past seven days. As with last week, domestic spot market prices are holding in the range of $61-$64 cwt. ($1,344-$1,411/mt or $1,220-$1,280/nt), ex-mill; SteelOrbis sources continue to report that prices from Mexico are consistent with US offers, FOB Texas conditions.

Year-over-year prices are similar; on March 9, 2018, SteelOrbis reported that the domestic range for API X-52 was trending between $60-$65 cwt. ($1,323-$1,433/mt or $1,200-$1,300/nt), ex-mill.

Current activity is steady, but lackluster, sources note, adding hope that US HRC prices will begin to tick upward; should HRC inch higher, pipe prices are likely to follow.
