The US domestic and import API X-52 line pipe markets have been quiet this week due to the Thanksgiving holiday. As with last week, the most commonly reported spot market price transaction range for US domestic API X-52 line pipe is still holding in the range of $64-$67 cwt. ($1,411-$1,477/mt or $1,280-$1,340/nt), ex-mill, while import pricing from Mexico for that same product is being heard at approximately $65 cwt. ($1,433/mt or $1,300/nt), FOB Texas, which includes the Section 232 tariff.

The most notable news this week relates to Section 232 tariffs, which Mexican officials believe will be lifted later this month in advance of the US, Mexico and Canada signing their new trilateral trade agreement to replace NAFTA.

On Tuesday, 33 organizations in a broad spectrum of industries signed a letter that was sent to US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer, asking that the Section 232 tariffs be lifted on Canada and Mexico, stating that the tariffs on steel and aluminum, along with import quotas, have caused significant harm to American manufacturers, consumers and workers.
