In the current week, despite the downward pressure due to weakness of demand and the acceleration of the depreciation of the Turkish lira against the US dollar, Turkish producers’ offer range for ERW pipes and hollow sections with 2-4 mm wall thickness made from hot rolled coil (HRC) of S235 grade as per EN 10219 to their domestic markets has remained stable since local producers have resisted any declines in their prices.
As no significant change has been observed in terms of hot rolled coil (HRC) prices yet, Turkish welded pipe producers are trying to keep their prices stable in the absence of a decline in HRC prices. As a result, producers’ prices in the local Turkish welded pipe market are still at $590-610/mt ex-works, though, according to market sources, discounts are available for high-volume bookings.
In the local Turkish welded pipe market, where demand has been slack for a long time amid the impact of the crises in Turkey’s economy and construction sector, no recovery is expected in demand in the coming period as Ramadan will start next week.
