Demand has remained at moderate levels in the local Turkish welded pipe market, while prices have been stable since last week. Producers are happy about demand and some mills have already started to offer for January production. “Demand is sufficient for both local and export markets and stocks are not high in the market. Despite the discounts on HRC prices in the country, global scrap prices continue to increase. We think welded pipe prices will remain stable in the short term. However, higher prices are risky for the market. They can damage demand," a producer told SteelOrbis.

Local welded pipe prices in Turkey have remained at $570-590/mt ex-works, while export prices are still at 550-570/mt FOB. Demand from the export destinations are still sufficient and offers are mostly for January production.

** Prices are given for ERW pipes and hollow sections with 2-4 mm wall thickness made from HRC of S235 grade as per EN 10219, on theoretical weight basis.
