Turkish welded pipe export prices have remained stable over the past week, with Turkish producers’ offer range for ERW pipes and hollow sections with 2-4 mm wall thickness made from hot rolled coil (HRC) of S235 grade as per EN 10219 to their export markets remaining at $560-580/mt FOB.

SteelOrbis has been informed that price inquiries for Turkish welded pipe in the international markets have continued to be made in the given week, while some orders booked since the end of December have been loaded for transport.  However, demand has failed to revive as much as market players had expected. Turkish steel mills’ import scrap purchase prices have exceeded the $300/mt CFR mark, while expectations of a further increase in import scrap quotations have also been mentioned in the market, which will also raise welded pipe mills’ production costs. As a result, Turkish producers’ welded pipe export offers are expected to increase in the coming weeks, with market sources reporting that mills are planning to raise their offers by $10-20/mt.
