With the Turkish lira mostly gaining strength against the US dollar in the current week, domestic welded pipe prices in Turkey have increased by an average of $5/mt week on week. Accordingly, Turkish welded pipe producers’ domestic offer range for ERW pipes and hollow sections with 2-4 mm wall thickness made from HRC of S235 grade as per EN 10219 has reached to $575-600/mt ex-works. On the other hand, offers slightly lower than this price range are also heard since demand in the local Turkish welded pipe market has been at low levels for a long time.

Market sources state that domestic hot rolled coil (HRC) - which is used as raw material in welded pipe production - has remained stable over the past week but, with the uptrend of scrap quotations and the current high levels of iron ore prices, domestic welded pipe offers in Turkey are expected to increase further.
