Turkish welded pipe export offers expected to move sideways for a while

Turkish welded pipe export offers have moved sideways over the past week, with exporters continuing to conclude sales. Accordingly, Turkish producers’ offer range for ERW pipes and hollow sections with 2-4 mm wall thickness made from hot rolled coil (HRC) of S235 grade as per EN 10219 to their export markets has remained at $560-580/mt ex-works.

On the back of their more attractive prices, Turkish exporters have continued their sales to Europe, though the short-term risks have increased due to the EU’s import quota and antidumping investigations. On the other hand, Turkish exporters continue to conclude sales to the markets to which they usually sell small tonnages, while they are continuing their search for alternative markets. Market sources believe that the long-standing downtrend of Turkish welded pipe prices has come to a halt with prices bottoming out, while the prices are now expected to move sideways for a while.
