Seamless pipe demand remains weak in Saudi Arabia during Ramadan

Activity in the Saudi Arabian seamless pipe market is quiet because of a slowdown in business activity during Ramadan. Ukrainian suppliers have cut their seamless pipe offers for Saudi Arabia by $20-30/mt over the past month, while quotations of Chinese pipes have decreased by $20-25/mt during the same period. Import offers of South African materials have decreased by a maximum of $5/mt. Market players believe that sluggish demand during Ramadan will not allow the Saudi Arabian seamless pipe market to improve in the short term.

Most offers of Chinese seamless pipes of 2"-6" grade B made to ASTM are being given to the Saudi Arabian market at $530-560/mt CFR.

Quotations of Ukrainian seamless pipes (Interpipe) of 2"-6" grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L to Saudi Arabia are at $860-890/mt CFR, while 8"-10" pipes are offered at around $880-920/mt CFR.

South African seamless pipes (ArcelorMittal), 2"-6" grade B made to ASTM A106, are quoted at around $970-1,000/mt CFR Saudi Arabia.

Quotations from Japan (NSSMC) for seamless pipes of 2"-3" grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L are at about $1,170-1,200/mt CFR Saudi Arabia, offers of 8"-10"pipes are at $1,350-1,400/mt CFR, and 14" pipes are at $1,440-1,490/mt CFR.
