Seamless pipe trade in Turkey remains slack amid slow end-use consumption. Local buyers prefer to keep stocks at moderate levels, purchasing materials in line with their needs.
Import quotations of Ukrainian and Russian seamless pipes have remained unchanged over the period under review. At the same time, import quotations of Romanian material have decreased by $10-45/mt over the past month, while offers of Chinese seamless pipes to Turkey have increased by a maximum of $40/mt. However, Turkish buyers are unlikely to accept price increases as demand is not expected to pick up in the short term.
Chinese suppliers are offering seamless pipes of 2"-10" grade B made to ASTM or grade St37 as per DIN 2448 to the Turkish market in the price range of $860-920/mt CFR. Offers of 18"-20" seamless pipes of steel grade St52 as per DIN 2448 from Chinese suppliers are quoted at around $1,080-1,140/mt CFR, while 22"-24" pipes are at $1,180-1,240/mt CFR.
December production pipes from Ukrainian producer Interpipe of 2"-8" grade B as per ASTM A106 are being offered to the Turkish market at about $1,050-1,100/mt CFR, while pipes with 60.3-168.3 mm diameter of steel grade 10, 20 made to GOST are quoted at around $1,030-1,080/mt CFR.
Quotations of Russian seamless pipes from Tagmet (TMK Group) with 219-273 mm diameter of steel grade 10, 20 made to GOST are being given to the Turkish market at about $1,045-1,055/mt CFR for January production. Quotations of Russian seamless pipes from Volzhsky pipe plant (TMK Group) with 89-219 mm diameter of steel grade 10, 20 made to GOST are quoted at about $1,000-1,020/mt CFR for January production.
Russian producer ChTPZ is offering June-July 2013 production seamless pipes, 6"-8" grade B made to ASTM, to Turkey at about $970-1,000/mt CFR.
Import offers of seamless pipes from Romania (ArcelorMittal), 12"-14" of grade B made to ASTM, are being given to the Turkish market at $1,380-1,450/mt CPT, while 3"-10" pipes are quoted at around $1,340-1,385/mt CPT.
