Over the past week, Turkish producers’ prices of hot rolled coil (HRC), which is used as raw material in welded pipe production, have increased to $525-540/mt ex-works. Despite the upward movement of domestic HRC prices in the country, Turkish welded pipe producers’ domestic offer range for ERW pipes and hollow sections with 2-4 mm wall thickness made from HRC of S235 grade as per EN 10219 has decreased by $12.5/mt on average to $570-580/mt ex-works, due to increasing competition among sellers resulting from weakness of demand. However, it is noted that discounts on the lower end of this prices range are possible for buyers of larger volumes. According to market sources, Turkish welded pipe producers are unlikely to decrease their prices in the coming period.
