Local Chinese steel pipe prices have softened during the past week.

Local Chinese seamless pipe prices have moved down slightly during the past seven days. Overall trading activity is still weak, while decreases in upstream billet prices have exerted downward pressure on seamless pipe prices. Traders have mostly been willing to offer some discounts in order to close more deals. As for the coming period, considering that the demand side may see a recovery after the holiday, it is believed that seamless pipe prices resume a stable trend or rebound slightly.

Chinese domestic welded pipe prices have moved down during the past week. Overall trading activity has remained sluggish, while upstream steel strip prices have declined, causing welded pipe prices to follow the same trend. As for the coming period, it is believed that welded pipe prices may just indicate minor fluctuations.
