The local Chinese steel pipe market have showed a stable trend during the past week.

Local Chinese seamless pipe prices have showed a stable trend in the past seven days. Overall trading activity has been weak since eastern and southern China have been impacted by rainy weather. Upstream billet prices have risen slightly, but downstream demand is still slack, which has led traders to keep their prices stable. As for the week ahead, considering that the off-season period may lead to a further slackening of demand, it is believed that seamless pipe market prices will follow a stable or slightly weak trend.

Chinese domestic welded pipe prices have been stable during the past week. Upstream steel strip prices have fluctuated by small margins and demand has remained weak due to rainy weather in some areas causing most traders to keep their prices stable and to focus on sales. As for the week ahead, it is believed that welded pipe prices will mostly move sideways but some traders may offer discounts in order to close more deals due to the off-season.
